In-depth information

It is activity practiced by people not registered with national sports federations, associated disciplines or sports promotion bodies recognized by CONI, aimed at achieving and maintaining psychophysical wellbeing, not regulated by sports bodies, and also includes activity done independently.

Some clubs and fitness centers, as well as some swimming pools and other facilities, require it as a form of protection and insurance against possible injuries.

In these cases Nutrizione Prevenzione issues a sports certificate for non-competitive activity.

Who needs the certificate:

  • students who take part in extracurricular physical and sports activities organized by schools outside lesson hours
  • those who play sport at clubs affiliated with national sports federations (FIGC, FIN, FIT, FIPAV, FASI, CSI, PGS, UISP, CUSI, etc.) and CONI (but who are not considered competitive athletes)
  • those who take part in Student Sports Games in the stages prior to the national final

The certificate must include the results of:

  • a medical history and physical examination
  • blood pressure measurement
  • a resting electrocardiogram (performed at least once in a lifetime).

For those over 60 with high cardiovascular risk factors, and for those with established chronic conditions that increase cardiovascular risk, a resting electrocardiogram with a formal report is required annually.

The doctor may prescribe other tests deemed necessary or a specialist consultation.

The sports medical certificate for non-competitive sports activities is valid for 1 year from the date of issue.

Nutrizione Prevenzione issues the sports certificate for non-competitive activities always performing, for the patient’s protection, a resting electrocardiogram.

It concerns sports activities practiced by members registered with a sports federation or sports body recognized by CONI, on an ongoing basis with regular participation in competitions and competitive events.

The certificate must include in-depth examinations attesting the person’s fitness for competitive sport (for example spirometry, urine test, vision test and exercise electrocardiogram).

At present Nutrizione Prevenzione does not issue sports certificates for competitive sports activity.
